My Research

These last two days I have been researching.I have been researching really hard. I have been researching about citizens' rights. Here are some rights.
Every citizen has right to vote if you’re 18 or older, the right to a fair trial, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, right to national security, privilege of traveling, and every citizen has the right to be eligible to work in all areas. Here are some more rights.Freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, to keep and bear arms, freedom of the press, and protection for those accused of crimes. I got my research from http://www.wikipedia.org/.
People have problems or questions about citizens rights everyday.
I did my research so that I could figure out some facts and I also done it so that I could make my game better.

Assasination of Abraham Lincoln

The presidential party arrived at Ford's at about 8:30 P.M. Armed with a single shot derringer and a hunting knife, Booth arrived at Ford's at about 9:30 P.M. Joseph Burroughs, a boy who worked at the theater, held his horse in the rear alley. Booth went next door to a saloon for a drink. He entered the front of Ford's Theatre around 10:07 P.M. Slowly he made his way toward the State Box where the Lincolns were sitting with Clara Harris and Major Henry Rathbone. Lincoln's bodyguard, John Parker of the Metropolitan Police Force, had left his post. At about 10:15 P.M. Booth opened the door to the State Box, shot Lincoln in the back of the head at near point-blank range, and struggled with Rathbone. Booth stabbed Rathbone in the arm and jumped over 11 feet to the stage below. When he hit the floor he snapped the fibula bone in his left leg just above the ankle. Many in the theater thought he yelled "Sic Semper Tyrannis" (Latin for "As Always to Tyrants"). Mrs. Lincoln screamed, Booth flashed his knife at the audience, and he made his way across the stage in front of more than 1,000 people. Everything happened so fast that no one had time to stop him. Booth went out the back door, climbed on his horse, and escaped from the city using the Navy Yard Bridge.

Adding Animation and Sound

I'm going to blog about what I've done in the adding animation and sound units.

So far in adding navigation I have made a square move, then I made the square move about half of the screen and then it will change to a circle and keep on moving, the final thing I done on this unit was, I made my house move from side to side on my title scene.

So far in adding sound I have made a man walking across a brick wall doing a front flip and then stopping after he finishes the flip and he will stick his hands up in the air.I haven't added sound to him yet, but I am going to put a zoom sound while he's in the air and then when he gets done I will have a background sound going hooray or something.

I have been working really hard and if you want to see look at my projects page.

Coal Hurts, but Helps

Lately I've heard a lot about coal issues. People are trying to stop coal businesses in West Virginia because of the pollution it is causing. I don't think they should shut down coal businesses because most of the people in West Virginia will be jobless. In West Virginia 99% of the generated electricity comes from coal.Coal occurs in 53 of West Virginia's 55 Counties, but only Jefferson and Hardy in the eastern panhandle have no coal. More than half of the nation's electricity is generated from coal. Coal provides the majority of electric power in 32 states. Now you now why I don't want coal businesses to shut down.Watch this video about people wanting to shut down coal mines.

What I've learned in flash

1. In flash I have learned that you can add buttons to go to the next scenes. I also learned that you can trace pictures and they will become your own. I also learned how to add buttons and how to add movement.

2. The easiest part about this unit I thought was the making the buttons. The hardest part was trying to add the navigation. The reason I got through this unit was because I asked for help from the teacher and from some of my classmates.

3. I have learned that our game might be fun and that it is going to be educational. We reseached about people in the Supreme Court and about our rights.

4. I can't get my back button to work so I'll probably ask Mrs.I Barker to help me if I can't get it.

5. Yes, I need a little more time.
Watch this video on adding navigation.

What We've Done In Flash

My partner and I have been working really hard on our flash project. We created the title scene and the loading screen. I added a background color to my loading screen. In my title screen I drew a court. I think for me to be drawing it, it looks okay.I still need some work to do on my flash project. I think the hardest part about this unit was when I tried drawing the court with the pencil. The easiest part was when I created the title.I would think about what color I wanted my background and what I even wanted to put on the next scene.I liked to use the paintbrush and the line tool the most.I used the lasso tool the least.I have all of my flash work on my projects page.

Swine Flu Needs To Go!!!!

The Swine Flu is a major deal in the United States right now
I think that the H1N1 flu ( aka Swine Flu) needs to be addressed. This flu is getting outrageous. If the people of the United States don't figure out how to eliminate the Swine Flu, we will all catch it.

The Swine Flu concerns me because anybody can catch it.If I catch it I can die. A White House report from an expert panel suggests that from 30 percent to half the population could catch swine flu during the course of this pandemic and that from 30,000 to 90,000 could die.

So far, swine flu isn't much more threatening than regular seasonal flu.During the few months of this new flu's existence, hospitalizations and deaths from it seem to be lower than the average seen for seasonal flu, and the virus hasn't dramatically mutated. That's what health officials have observed in the Southern Hemisphere where flu season is now winding down.

Still, more people are susceptible to swine flu and U.S. health officials are worried because it hung in so firmly here during the summer.

What We've Done

This unit has been fun.Out of all of these units I have liked paper prototype and the playing to learn units best.

We learned how to make our game on pieces of paper. After we made our paper prototype we got to try them out.Yes we actually got to play our games. When we played them and when we thought they were good we video taped them. When we video taped them they went on the internet.I thought that this unit was fun.

I looked up some information on the internet. The sites I looked up was http://judgepedia.org/index.php/2008_Judicial_Elections and http://www.ward-and-murphy.com/courts.html .

About Our Game

1. My partner's name is Stephen Baker. Our game is about rights. Our rights are a big deal in this country. Rights and respnonsibilities are a big part in civics. People have their own rights like religion beliefs or the right to wear what clothes you want to.

2. The player will learn about rights.Rights are a big deal in civics. You have a lot of rights, everybody does.People can go to court because of their rights.

3. I believe that our game will fit into the ideals section. I believe this because in the ideals section it has Minority rights and Individual Rights and Freedoms.

My Game Idea

I am in a team group. The team name is Halo Machines. My group partner is Stephen Baker. He is a great partner and he keeps his work up to date.He helps me all the time.

We came up with a game idea. Our game name is The Courthouse. Our game topic is rights and responsibilities. At first when we were thinking of a game we were going to call it the rights and responsibilities of ctizens, but then we decided to call it The Courthouse.

When kids play our game we want them to learn about rights and resonsibilities. We want the kids to learn and have fun at the same time. We want our game to be realistic and have good graphics.

In our game the characters are the judge, the plaintiff, the jury, and the defendant. In the game the defendant will have to answer questions and the judge will pick when the plaintiff can ask his questions and when the defendant can answer the questions. At the end of the trial the jury will pick if the defendant is guilty or not .

What is happening in Globaloria

Globaloria is a great class.I'm glad that I took this oppertunity and got in this class.Globaloria has been going good for me.I haven't had any problems yet.

I think that the most interesting and fascinating thing about Globaloria is that the whole class is on the internet.

We learn how to create video games and how to use Flash, nobody else in the whole school gets to learn how to do that.

We learned how to play educational games and we thought of what we could create a game about.

I played the games Dufar is dying, climate change, stop disasters, and what would you do.I like the games Dafur is dying and the game stop disaster the best.I liked them because they are educational and fun at the same time.

I like flash. It is cool.Flash is hard but if you listen you will get how to use it.

This year I hope that I can create a game that is fun and educational.

In my group I want to be the sound expert or the artist.

I hope I get the drawing part because I can draw good and I like drawing open hand.I hope I get the sound expert because I think it would be fun and I think I can do the job.

The safety of the internet

The internet is a big thing in todays technology. You can surf the internet and look up data, but everybody don't see what dangers come with the internet.

We are kind of safe on the internet ,but it still has dangers like threats, black mail, and hacking.

The internet is more safe than dangerous.I want the internet to be safer than what it is.People think that the internet is the worst thing to get on, but it isn't.

Rights and Responsibilities

Every right comes with responsibilities. It doesn't matter what right it is there will always be respsibilities. If you loose your responsibilities then you could loose your rights.

If something isn't fair then it just isn't fair. There is all kinds of rights. One of them ,that everybody should know is your religion beliefs.Nobody can force you to believe in something you don't.It is up to you to stand up for yourself and speak your mind about things.

Everybody has responsibilities. Our responsibilities in school are to be to class on time, work hard, and ask questions if you need help.If we do good in school then we will get rights and rewards. One resonsibility in school is the dress code.Everybody has to go by the dress code.

What I hope to do in Globaloria

I hope that I can learn how to get on computers with out even asking how.I want to be better with technology and the internet.

I hope that if I blog all the time it will make me be able to type better and faster.I hope that this class will be fun and educational at the same time.I want to make a game about a walking windmill that walks over gases it will destroy it.I'm afraid that I will mess up on my blogging or something and I will fell this class.I hope that my blogs will be what Mrs.I Barker is looking for.
