Expectations 8-30-10

This year I hope to create and finish a great game.I expect that our game will be better than last years. This year our game topic will be mathmatics. It can't be two plus two.It has to be mathmatics in our grade level. This year I'm more excited than anything else because I know a little more about flash this year than last year.I'm excited because I've got a new partner and she is going to be a real help.

What I learned 6-2-10

I think that our game presentations went well.Stephen and I did extremely good.I think that everyone in our class and the eighth grade did the best that we could.

Stephen and my game got finished, but it could have used some touch ups and possibly another level.

This year I think that the one thing I learned was how to use and code action script. Mrs.Barker was a huge help with us this year. She taught us how to code action script and how to create our entire game.

Function Blog 5-13-10

In our game we used to have questions, but we decided to change the game completely.About one month ago Stephen and I were told that our game didn't relate to civics, so we had to change our game and start all back over.We decided to scrap our whole game and start from scratch. If I had the choice to add the questions again I wouldn't.

Function Blog 4-29-10

I commented on Matt from GEHS and also on Nick from GEHS.I commented on Matt because he talked about what he has finished.I commented on Nick because he talked about his presentation and how he used the internet to make his presentation better.

Function 4-22-10

Stephen and I are teaching about the Freedom of Expression, which is the first amendment. I would say that the hardest thing to teach about was the questions for the car scene.First we had to find facts for the car scene and then we had to make questions from the facts. Finding the facts was not hard, but thinking of the questions was quite hard.I thought to put this in our game so that the player will know what the Freedom of Expression is.We figured that if we gave them facts it would make the game a little more easier and interesting. After the facts and questions are given to the player he/she will arrive to the court and have to pick who they thought wasn't guilty by using the knowledge that they got from the facts that we gave them. The link to my page is http://www.myglife.org/usa/wv/srmswiki/index.php/User:Bolen96.

Function Blog 4-15-10

This week I was asked to make a blog about the way news and other sources might similalry manipulate information about civics.I believe that people try to show their own opinion, but sometimes they lie.If you are looking for some research don't write down the first thing you come to.Right now I don't have any advice for anyone besides work hard and if you do any more research look around the web before you write down anything off one site.

Function Blog 3-31-10

This week I was asked to pick someones game and compare their game demo to their paper prototype.I'm supposed to talk about the changes they made and the development of their game and some advice to help them with their demo. This week I choose team Tigers. The students in this team are Cassie and Heather.Their game is called Supreme Basketball.Last week I did my blog on Aaron and Andy.Their game title is "Hitler vs Stalin: Who Shall Win?".Here's the link to their team page http://www.myglife.org/usa/wv/shhswiki/index.php/Team:A-Team2. I think that when Cassie and Heather's game is finished it will be very helpful in civics. The game's topic is Freedom of Expression. When Cassie and Heather finish their game I think it will be great and I would love to play it again. The link to Cassie and Heather's team page is http://www.myglife.org/usa/wv/srmswiki/index.php/Team:Tigers.
